Special Policy and Decolonization

The Fourth Committee is responsible for issues related to decolonization, Palestinian Human Rights and Refugees, peacekeeping operations, information issues, peaceful use of outer space, Special Political Missions and the effects of ionizing radiation, among others matters.

In this instance, Peru supports a number of initiatives in the field of decolonization, which is consistent with its historic position in favor of self-determination of peoples. Also, in line with its historical commitment to the collective security system, it prioritizes the treatment of peacekeeping operations, in which it seeks to make contributions to improve its efficiency and effectiveness.
